Job Description:
AMS seeks a Project Engineer to design and manage comprehensive integrated technology solutions to energy management that involve both the installation and operation of energy storage systems, building management systems, and data acquisition assets that drive BMS deployments, traditional commissioning and EM&V efforts. As a Project Engineer, you will work with AMS’s industry-leading customers and internal engineering team to design new systems to improve energy management through improved data analytics and sophisticated load control. Additionally, this role will serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all AMS installations or projects that integrate with existing or new BMS.
Position Requirements:
  • B.S. in engineering. Master’s degree, mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building commissioning and retro-commissioning, building management systems, HVAC, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience with installation of monitoring, controls, commissioning, and facility operations.
  • Experience with building management systems communication protocols and data schema; experience with more than one type of building management system provider preferred
  • Solid knowledge of energy as it pertains to facility managers and building owners, including rate tariffs, optimizing building operations to reduce costs, and energy procurement; familiarity about the electric utility industry.
  • Technical knowledge of energy storage, renewable and conventional power generation technologies, as well as customer-sited systems.
  • Ability to work closely in small teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing role, with product partners, vendors, and utilities.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, high-functioning team player.

Solar Project Analyst at Sustainable Capital Finance (San Jose, CA)

Sustainable Capital Finance is seeking a full-time Solar Project Analyst to join its team. The Solar Project Analyst will be the contact point for new clients and third party vendors. The Solar Project Analyst will be responsible for performing the initial financial analysis on new projects, reviewing all third party agreements, and assisting the Executive Management on tasks and special projects.

Primary Job duties include:
  • Train new solar integrators on project submission, using proprietary software.
  • Review new project submissions and coordinate with solar integrators on open items
  • Performing credit analysis utilizing commercial and non-profit financial statements
  • Performing limited technical analysis to confirm projects meet minimum requirements
  • Performing project financial analysis utilizing project financial models
  • Review third party agreements, to ensure compliance with company guidelines
  • Performing diligence on service providers and vendors
  • Performing other due diligence on asset acquisitions
  • Ensure each project has met all minimum criteria
  • Generate project agreements using SCF standardized documents
  • Assign SCF Project Score to each project to prioritize investment opportunities
  • Drafting Investment Memos, LOIs and Term sheets, pertaining to investment opportunities including an analysis of the degree of risk involved in a potential investment

Under the general direction of the Director, Office of Governmental Affairs, the Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst V (PURA V) serves as a Senior Legislative Liaison and monitors daily state and federal legislative and regulatory activity for the Commission. The PURA V provides expertise and assists the Director and members of the OGA team in support of identifying, tracking, monitoring and analyzing state and federal legislative and regulatory processes and activities that impact the industries overseen by the Commission - private electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water and transportation corporations.
 
The PURA V also provides strategic guidance and coordinates Commission engagement with state and federal legislative and budget processes, and regulatory proceedings that affect the Commission and the industries overseen by the Commission, as well as researches federal funding opportunities and explores Commission engagement aimed at securing such funds that would enhance the Commission’s regulatory and programmatic functions.
 
This position requires travel within the state of California, specifically, the Commission’s headquarters in San Francisco.
